Mary knows first hand the benefits of yoga as it allowed her to deal with obstacles and changes in her life. In October 2013, after encountering a knee injury, she had no choice but to hang up her running shoes...left with memories of her neighborhood runs and marathon days.
Trying something new is not easy as it takes us out of our comfort zone. Mary stepped into yoga without any experience and pursued it with the greatest intention. She realized that Yoga is a nurturing practice with so many benefits and it became an intricate part of her life. She learned to breathe differently but most importantly to hold her own space. After a few classes, she deepened her practice and signed up to be a yoga practitioner. In 2014, Mary completed her Yoga teacher training through West Hartford Yoga.
Self care is important to her, and even though she suffered an injury years ago, she’s conscious of her limits, as she is aware that an old injury can resurface. “Your body, your practice." It’s sometimes better to take a step back, than to push yourself over the edge. However, challenge yourself, be wise and be safe.
Today, she is unable to run a mile but she can do a camel pose in yoga. She practices yoga because she understands the importance of focusing on one’s personal space. That said, she would like her students to experience their own transformation on their mats. Be ready to laugh, move and hold space in a warm and inviting environment.
"Deepen the practice by connecting breath and body."... She teaches gentle, all levels, restorative and power flow classes. She approaches this with a calmness that allows students to explore their challenges with courage, while staying within their limitations in order to reach their goals.
"Spice it up with music and synchronized movement."... She teaches a simple but strong parallel plié in barre and will push you through a squat overhead press sequence during sculpt. Driven by her eclectic music choices, you may hear Billy Joel and Missy Elliot in the same playlist!

Thank you for stopping by. Our studio is small, but with a lot of personality! I’m truly honored and humbled to spread health and wellness to the community. Yoga is very dear to my heart and it opened doors that led to this moment. I’m glad to provide you with the fitness modalities that I practice and love. “Your Body. Your Practice. Embrace it.”
